Taekwondo

Hello! My name is Kayla Wong, and I have a 1st Dan black belt in Taekwondo. I’ve been doing TKD since Grade 5, and I go to Jung ko Taekwondo. This website will be about my experiences with TKD!

What Taekwondo has taught me

I think the biggest thing that it has taught me is that hard work pays off. I worked hard through the tough training for both Poomsae and Sparring, learned new techniques, and most importantly, never gave up. I always come to class with an open mindset, and ready to learn something new. TKD has really shown me that hard work pays off. In the beginning, I wasn’t very good at sparring. After seeing how skilled some of my peers were, I aspired to be like them. I realized that I had to work hard in order to do well in martial arts. After a year of training every day, I got on the Competitive Kyorugi (sparring) Team! This really shows that when you put in the time and effort into something, it will pay off!

Demo Team

I am very lucky to be part of my school's Demo Team. We train for 2-3 hours per week to perfect our Poomsae, and we perform at events! Being on the Demo Team has been an awesome experience so far. I’ve had the opportunity to be on CP24, perform at many festivals, and most importantly, I’ve grown so much as a person from these experiences. Heres a picture of my Taekwondo schools Demo Team:
